Miss Carmalita Cruz

Emily Rose
Justin aka Carmalita Cruz

Justin aka Carmalita Cruz

Justin is one of the guys that I work with at The Paper Moon, and also one of my best friends. Just to clarify a few things, Justin is gay. As some of you may know, some gay men like to dress in drag... Well Justin is one of those some. Last night a few co-workers and I went to a club called Karamba to watch Justin and another friend we know, "Emily Rose" perform, and they both did amazing. When drag queens perform they are really just lip syncing to a song and dancing around the stage. You would be surprised how entertaining this can be. So I just thought I would post a few pictures to share, Enjoy!!!

My life... in a nut shell...

So, what a life I have had lately. I hurt my foot really bad about 2 weeks ago, so that has prevented me from doing my normal daily functions like going to the gym, out dancing with my friends and taking my puppy for a walk. But the foot is starting to get better quick and I think I can start hitting the gym again next week!!! I also get to go back to my cocktail waitressing job tonight and I am super excited for that! Yeah!! I am not the type of person that does good when I am handed a restriction in my life...

I did manage to go out with some friends last Sunday night, we went to a club called Karramba. We were there for about 5 minutes and this crazy guy walks in the club and like scoped me out within seconds. I tried everything to get him to leave me alone, but he was like a lost puppy dog. So instead of getting to hang out with my friends and have a good time I had to leave. And as soon as I left he left also!! How is it that all the crazies are instantly attracted to me?? LOL

Wow!!! How time flies!!!

So let's just talk about my lack of commitment to the blogging world in almost the past year... To all my blogging friends I am ever so sorry!!! I am going to attempt this again. Life has been very crazy so far this year... Lets see, so much has happened... I started up in school again, and did very well my first semester back, I am so proud of myself!! (Patting myself on the Back) I also got laid off from my job of 3 years in March, that was not such a good thing. But it made me decided that I really want to devote a lot of my time to school and get it done. So I decided to find a part time job and become a full time student... I started working for a company called Francini Marble and Granite, and I also started cocktail waitressing at a local bar in SLC. I really enjoy the cocktail waitressing, I have so much fun doing it and I get to meet a lot of great people.

As if those weren't enough life changing events, I also moved out in April with 2 of my best girlfriends. Our house was not the cutest thing when we moved in, it was quite the project house, and after months of painting and playing fix up, it is ever so cute now. Our landlord was even nice enough to get us new carpet. After a little bit of a rough patch, we are all starting to get along very well and have adjusted to living with each other. Bella had a bit of a hard time adjusting to the move, but I think that Tessie Lou, my roommate Rhianna's dog has helped her out with that. Not only do we have 2 dogs but we also have a bird... I know what you are thinking, Courtney living in a house with a bird? But that is her biggest fear of all time, BIRDS!!! Well we have a rule, the bird is not allowed out of her cage when I am home. I just can't handle the bird flying at my head, it just scares me silly!!

Las Vegas Baby!!

Recently I went on a last minute trip to Las Vegas to see a friend that I have not seen in quite sometime. I ended up flying, thinking that I would be spending about the same amount between a flight or gas.. Which, by the way is really pathetic that gas prices are so high... So last Thursday I jumped on a plane and off I went. It has been several years since I have last been on a plane and really didn't know what to expect. In fact it has been like 15 years since my last flight so my nerves were on edge. The flight was very smooth, although take-off scared me a bit. Especially when I thought the plane had lost power and we were going to fall backwards to our deaths... But we didn't and I made it there fine. I guess I felt slightly safer, knowing that I was sitting right by the Emergency Exit and would be first down the big yellow slide. :)

I was there for four days and loved every minute of it. I was either at the pool, or doing my usual thing of shopping on the strip. I only had one slight problem when I became dehydrated and passed out on the strip. Don't worry though my friend Austin, whom I went to see, was right next to me and caught me before I fell to the ground. What a good friend right?? I guess it was my own stupidity though for chugging a double shot Margarita in 115 degree weather. Can I just tell you though the drink was so worth it... :)

I love all the shopping that you can do in Vegas that you can't in Utah. I went into Jimmy Choo and had a really hard time not leaving with the cutest pair of black pumps... The only thing that stopped me was the price tag and hearing everyone tell me I was crazy!! They were $865.00, but worth every penny. Then I went into Louis V store and found a super cute purse that they were asking $2800.00 for. I am putting that on my Christmas wish list... I would love if we had stores like Fendi, Dolce and Gabbana, Prada, Tiffany's or anything even remotely close to that in Utah... I would be all over it...

So I my flight came back last Sunday and my adorable boyfriend meet me at the airport. I really missed him while I was gone. But it was also nice to get out of town for a bit. I really needed it.

I am Horrible....

I have gotten horrible at my blogging. I can't believe it has been a month since I have posted last. Grrr.. I am so frustrated with myself now. I keep telling myself that I have been busy and had no time, but my mother keeps telling me how I have had plenty of time, I just haven't been taking advantage of it. Well let me update you with my life... Let's see... hmmm really nothing has happened. I got a really bad case of food poisoning two nights ago, and that has been an awful experience. If anybody wants to try a risky diet and needs to lose five+ pounds in two days just puke your guts out, don't eat or drink for 48 hours and you will accomplish your goal!!! The only great thing that has come out of the unhealthy weight loss is the BIG Nordstrom's sale is tomorrow and I will have a killer body for that. :) I am taking the weekend off work and Dinko and I are going on a mini vacation to Lava Hot Springs to get some R&R. He has never been and I haven't been since I graduated from high school. He loves sitting in hot tubs so this should be fun for both of us. Especially after my near death experience with the food poisoning I could use the rest. We will also be taking our puppy, so I will post pictures when I get home. I hope everything is going well for all of you. Keep in touch and let me know what is happening is your lives!!!

What a week...

So what a week I have had. With all the stress surrounding My Brudder and his the addition to his new family, I feel like the time has just flown by. So much has happened that I don't know where to start. My parents and I spent all day Wednesday at the hospital, that was quit an experience. But in the end, all of the pain and the loss of sleep that Amber and Chris went through was worth it with the birth of little Miss Hayleigh. She is adorable... Not only did we have that going on but quit a few birthdays on my moms side of the family. Sam turned 6 and is ecstatic to have Hayleigh to share a birthday with now!!! Also on Wednesday I also found out that I had been approved for $20,000 dollars more than I thought I would get to purchase my first home, so I have thrown myself into the chore of house hunting even deeper. (Wish me luck!!) I also had a anniversary gift to get ready. I will post pictures after Friday so that my super sneaky boyfriend can not find out in anyway!!! Dinko and I decided to take some time for ourselves and went to The Living Planet Aquarium, where I got to touch some Sting Rays, Starfish and a few others that I don't know the name of. It was quite an experience, Dinko didn't like it so much. :( The funny thing about that is he is usually the brave one. He wanted to go and I kept going back to the tank wanting to touch them again. Of course after I asked the person at the information desk about a hundred times if he was positive that they couldn't hurt me... So I am hoping that it doesn't take me another week to write... I will try my hardest, but no promises!!! TTYL!!

I'm going to be an Auntie!!!

Just have to share my exciting news. As of right now my brother and his wife are at the hospital, getting ready to welcome their first baby into the world. Can you believe I am going to be an Auntie. My little niece Hayleigh wasn't expected until the first part of July, but her moms blood pressure has sky rocketed so they decided to take the baby a little early. I will keep you all posted as soon as I know more. So exciting!!!
